Cron health

Crontab must call run_tick.sh, not raw /usr/bin/php (that binary dies on Site5’s php.ini). Player pages also call tick_catchup.php when the clock is overdue.

Official race sim & publish

Race simulation is independent of the day tick. Pick a calendar file from disk, then a race, and run Re-sim & publish — PHP lean Layer 1 peloton (resim_one.php), not the JS CNP table. It does not advance the season day. Already-published races may be re-simmed (tape overwrite).
